Lake Worth, FL – November 18, 2015 – Eastern Metal Supply’s (EMS) Second Annual Thanksgiving Food Drive launched on November 2 and came to a close on November 18. The over 400 employees at EMS’ five Florida locations collected and donated 2,500 pounds of non-perishable food items for food banks around the state, including WPTV Food for Families in West Palm Beach, Fla., Agape Food Bank in Lakeland, Fla., and Interfaith Charities of South Lee County in Fort Myers, Fla..
The food drive was spearheaded by Human Resources Director Kristyn Endler. Unlike the previous year, EMS added a raffle to the food drive. Each item that employees donated earned them a raffle ticket for entry into a prize drawing.
“This is the first year we incorporated a raffle for our employees into our food drive, and I wasn’t sure what to expect. But all our employees throughout Florida really came through and helped to make our donation larger than I could have imagined,” said Endler.
The company plans to continue this annual project, increasing their food donations each year.
“We are so thrilled with the amount of food that was donated by our employees. We are going to make it a goal each year to donate more food than the year before,” said General Manager Craig Lightle.
