# Your Cheat Sheet for Florida Product Approval Form Specifications

When you’re constructing a new building or renovating an existing one, you’ll have to complete a product approval specification sheet.

Each city/county has its own product approval specification sheet, but they are all essentially uniform with four columns to complete and begin with a brief introductory message to the tune of:

*As required by Florida Statute 553.842 and Florida Administrative Code_____, provide the information and approval numbers on the building components below if utilized on the construction project for which you are applying for a building permit. We recommend you contact your local product supplier should you not know the product approval number for any of the applicable listed products. Statewide approved products are listed online at *[*www.floridabuilding.org*](http://www.floridabuilding.org)*.*
