Quality Control Inspector

Eastern Architectural Systems, Inc (EAS) is a division of EMS and is a manufacturer of Aluminum and Vinyl impact/Non-Impact windows and doors.
Quality Control Inspector, QC Inspector, will report to the Engineering and Service Manager and is part of the Engineering Department. The QC Inspector works directly on the production floor to ensure all EAS quality standards of products being built are maintained and will perform Incoming/First article Material Inspections. The QC Inspector will perform random in-process visual inspections and physical testing of units from a production line. The QC Inspector will not impede or slow down the production line to do so.
The QC Inspector will ensure all Quality Check List/Sign Off sheets are being filled out and will maintain all completed sheets. The QC Inspector will develop and maintain a log book for each production line and document physical testing and results of testing and will note findings of visual inspections.
The QC Inspector will develop and maintain Incoming/First article Material Inspection log books. All in-process inspection defects will be drought to the Engineering and Service Managers attention for further inspection. At that point if found to be true quality issue the QC Inspector will work with the Production Manager to rectify the issue. The QC Inspector will document the issue and the corrective action taken to fix the issue.
Duties:
In-process visual inspection
- Enforce the Fabrication and Quality Control Procedures developed by the Engineering Department for each production line
- Develop and maintain a log book of all quality issues found in-process and document the resolution for each issue
- In-process physical inspection
- Develop physical inspection standards and criteria with help from Engineering and Service Manager for each production line. Perform random testing daily.
- Develop and maintain a log book of physical testing with testing results.
- Incoming/First article inspections
- Develop Incoming/First article inspection procedures.
- Work with Receiving Department to perform inspections.
- Segregate and document all material found to be out of spec.
- Maintain pictures of all quality issues that the Service Department receives. Maintain and update The Wall of Shame.
- Every Friday attend the 7:30 A.M. Supervisor meeting and address all quality issues for the week that were received by the Service Department.
- Work with the Engineering Department to continue to develop Fabrication and Quality Control Procedures.
- Maintain and store all Quality Check List/Sign Off Sheets
