Lee County Unemployment 5.3 Percent in January

A strong showing by the construction industry sustained January employment in Southwest Florida although the jobless rate increased as Christmas retail jobs evaporated.

Trades Are Back

When Eastern Metal Supply expanded a few years ago into 60,000 square feet of existing industrial space in Fort Myers, owner Greg Weekes thought the football-sized building would easily accommodate his company’s growth here.
